What it changes, in cash

Same match, same pick, same 100 stake. At 1.90 you get 190 back, so a net win of 90. At 2.10 you get 210 back, so 110. The gap is 20 per winning bet, and it lands every time your pick comes in. Nothing to compute, nothing to convert.

It is exactly the same idea as a slot's RTP, applied to betting: what the game returns to the player once the house share is taken out. On slots, the site publishes the verified RTP ranking; on sport, nobody publishes anything, so we show it straight on the price you see on screen.

Why the gap is there, match after match

Every site sets its own odds and decides the share it keeps. Two sites reading the match in exactly the same way show different prices because one settles for less. Our casinos settle for less, and that is the one difference that pays out on every winning bet, with nothing changed about your picks.

What a locally licensed bookmaker cannot do

An operator licensed in a country hands a fixed share of every stake to tax and usually runs under a cap. That share comes out of what could have stayed in the price, and it is taken before the odds go up. Decimal, fractional and American odds

Three ways of writing the same thing. Decimal (1.90) is what is used here: it gives the multiplier of your stake directly. Fractional (9/10) gives the net win against the stake, so add 1 to get back to decimal. American (-111) states the stake needed to win 100, or the win on a 100 stake when it is positive.

If your site shows one of the other two, it almost always offers a switch to decimal in its settings. It is the most readable format, and the one the casinos on the comparator show.

How do I know how much a site keeps on my bet?

By comparing its price with another site's on the same match. The one showing the lower price is the one keeping more. On a 100 bet, odds of 1.90 return 190 and odds of 2.10 return 210: the 20 of difference is what the first site keeps and the second leaves you. No site displays that figure on its own, and yet it is the one that decides what comes back to you.

What do odds of 2.00 mean?

That your stake is multiplied by two if you win: 10 staked returns 20, stake included, so 10 of net win. The higher the odds, the less likely the site thinks the outcome is, and the more it pays you if it happens.

Why do the implied chances add up to more than 100%?

Because the share kept by the site is baked into the odds. If the implied chances added up to exactly 100%, the site would earn nothing on the match. The excess is precisely its share, and it reads in the price: the lower it is, the more the site keeps.

Decimal, fractional, American: how do I convert?

Decimal gives the multiplier of the stake (1.90). Fractional gives the net win against the stake, so add 1 to get the decimal (9/10 becomes 1.90). American states the stake needed to win 100 when negative, and the win on a 100 stake when positive. Most sites let you switch to decimal in their settings.

Is a site that keeps less always the better choice?
